For more than 20 years, the South Chandler Self-Help Foundation, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, in partnership with the City of Chandler, hosts the Miss Juneteenth Arizona Scholarship Program to commemorate Juneteenth and empower young Black women across Arizona.

Success in the pageant is defined not just by personal achievement, but by the impact contestants have on others. When a young woman gives her best—especially in service to others—she embodies the true spirit of Miss Juneteenth. 

Today, the mission of the Miss Juneteenth Pageant is more vital than ever: to help young African American women define their goals, learn how to achieve them, and then pass on their knowledge and skills to those who follow. 

This transformative program includes:

• Educational Workshops
  Covering topics such as Juneteenth history, budgeting, future planning, career opportunities, and current events.
• Community Service Activities
  Giving back to our neighborhoods while learning the importance of civic engagement.
• The Scholarship Pageant
  Held at the Chandler Center for the Arts, where contestants showcase their growth, talent, and vision.
• Post-Pageant Appearances
  Continued leadership and involvement in community events throughout the year.
